Summer Outside Worship
Summer Outside Worship
Not everyone likes the wide open spaces with the moon shining overhead and the smell of roasted marshmallows or hot dogs. But there is something to be said for pitching a tent, sleeping out in a cozy bag, and listening to the sounds of the critters who inhabit the small world of the campground.
This summer on the second Sunday of September, our outside worship in the courtyard at 9:00 am will resemble a campground. We dress informally and enjoy refreshments that are designed around our theme. Children are welcome and there are activities designed for them. Special music always enhances our worship with the synthesizer and instrumental and/or vocal groups. Bring a friend or two. Sit in our beautiful garden setting and enjoy nature as God intended. The final date for 2010 is September 12.

Calling all women who are members and friends of Zion! Let's get away for a few days and return to South Bend feeling refreshed and inspired!
The IKC Women's Board will host a retreat at Epworth Forest Retreat Center in North Webster Indiana -- approximately 50 miles from South Bend. The theme is "Fruit of the Spirit." Registration is Friday afternoon between 1:00 and 5:00pm. The fee for 2 days is $75 -- this includes overnight accomondations and meals. We encourage our ladies from Zion to take advantage of this wonderful spiritual opportunity.
On Saturday, October 9, workshops offered include:
1. Catch the Spirit of Lilith and Naamah, Martha of Bethany and others: Explore how God is still speaking through women today;
2. Finding Your Happiness;
3. Un-named Women of the Bible; and
4. Peace
Lunch and dinner are scheduled on Saturday, along with other activities as well. We would return to South bend following the Bible study and/or movie.
The Women's Board of the IKC and Zion's Sisters of Faith are encouraging our ladies to take advantage of having a retreat in our area. Let's let the IKC Women's Board know we appreciate their efforts in locating this Retreat so nearby by getting a group of women from Zion to attend. Laura Navarro and Judy Waldo have registration forms, for those of you who may be interested in attending. Registration deadline is September 30. We hope to carpool.
