Harpist Anna Hagen performs a repertoire that ranges from Bach to the Beatles. The proud professor of several harps Anna's goal is to communicate truth through beauty. She will transfer that truth to beauty to concert goers when she offers a recital of pieces that will consist of a combination of traditional Irish music and music from around the world that has been influenced by those Celtic origins.
Classical Guitarist Daniel Quinn will offer guitar solo works and join lyric tenor Michael Marquez-Snyder to perform voice/guitar works. Daniel will perform solo works composed by Isaac Albeniz (Leyenda), Leo Brouwer (Decameron Negro), and Francisco Tarrega (Recuerdos De La Alhambra, and Capricho Arabe). He will join Michael in the performance of voice/guitar works by Benjamin Britten (songs from the Chinese) and John Dowland.
The Silvertones are the resident glee club of the Forever Learning Institute. They offer public concerts at Christmas and in the spring. Typically, they perform as many as a half dozen other programs each semester, singing for church groups, service clubs, retirement centers, senior groups, and others. Celebrating their 10th anniversary, the Silvertones will close this year's Music in the Hoyt series with a concert called "seize the song!" which is a celibration of music they have sung and loved over the years.
